Joint Statement on Health Insurance Exchanges

Broad Array of Stakeholders Call on Legislature to Act

“At its core, a health insurance exchange is a market-based tool that provides health care consumers the opportunity to comparison shop for the health plan that best meets their needs. As Minnesota continues to evolve its health care system to meet the needs of its citizens, it is important to be forward-thinking and embrace concepts that make it easier for people to purchase health insurance. Health insurance exchanges are one such tool. We encourage Minnesota to create its own exchange and not risk having a Federal exchange imposed on it due to state inaction."
