Be the face of Walk MS!
Do you or does someone you know have a connection to Walk MS and a story to share?
The chapter is looking for ambassadors to represent the 2013 Walk MS events. The ambassador will be the “face” of the event and will use his or her personal story to inspire, engage and educate the community. Through speaking engagements, media interviews and other public outreach, the ambassador will energize others to get involved with Walk MS.
Nominate yourself or someone you know to be honored as the Walk MS ambassador in your community! If you nominate someone else, be sure to ask them whether they'd be interested in this important role before you submit a nomination.
Submit your application here.

Who can be an event ambassador?
Anyone with a close connection to MS who has been involved with the event for at least one year and has a story to tell. We are looking for someone whose story will inspire and motivate people to register and raise money for the event.
We also encourage couples and families to be ambassadors together. MS affects more than just the person living with the disease. These are important stories that need to be told, and it can be fun to share the role of ambassador with your loved ones!

What does an event ambassador do?
The Walk MS ambassador will serve as the “face” of the event. The ambassador's story will be featured in event materials and the website. Plus, we will pitch the story to local media to promote the event.
Ambassadors often help promote the event by hanging posters, handing out trading cards and participating in MS Awareness Week.
At the event, the ambassador may be asked to do media interviews or talk to other participants about getting involved in the MS movement.
It's up to the ambassador how involved they want to be in sharing their story and helping with outreach. We can be flexible to meet the ambassador's needs.
-
What is the time commitment?
Ambassadors usually spend an average of 15 hours promoting the event in the months leading up to the event.

Why should I be an event ambassador?
Being an event ambassador is a fantastic way to raise awareness about MS in your community and become more connected to the National MS Society. Ambassadors receive volunteer hours for their work and receive fun tools and training opportunities.
