HI! I’m Carrie Choules and I am working as a Fundraising Intern during 2011-2012 at NMSS. I graduate from Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) in May 2012. In my free time, I like to be with my family, friends and my pit Cidney Sue. I also enjoy drawing, painting, listening to any and all types of music, completing puzzles, and going to, or watching any sporting events. I also love boating, water skiing, fishing, camping and hiking.

Hello! My name is Kacy Hall. I am a junior at Southeast Missouri State University. I am currently majoring in Global Studies but I'm still deciding on a minor, but I am leaning towards Managing, Marketing, or both. I plan to get my master’s degree eventually. I am very excited to be a part of the MS Society as a Nonprofit Administration Intern at the Cape Girardeau Office, and am looking forward to learning all that I can. I have always been very interested in helping people in every way that I can which is why I would like to use my degree to find a career in the non-profit industry. In my free time I like to do crafts and my favorite is making hemp jewelry. I also like to read and my favorite author is Sara Shepard. Traveling is a passion of mine and I visited most of the states on the East Coast. Visiting every state is on my bucket list. I have also visited Puerto Rico twice, Tijuana, Mexico, Grand Cayman Islands, Bahamas and Cozumel, Mexico.

Hi everyone! My name is Allison Braun and I am a senior at the University of Missouri! I am from the distant city of St. Louis, MO. I enjoy a lot of things like people watching, reviewing resumes, reading almost everything I can get my hands on, gender theories, and playing video games angrily. In the future, I hope to take the world of Higher Education by storm either through radical programming or by becoming a dean (or both), and eventually I will end up in Canada. The last time I had a serious photo taken of myself was when I was 10.

I am currently working at Michaels Crafts and I love painting and scrap booking. I am also a musician. I play trombone and I sing. I have played in various bands, including Marching Mizzou. I am originally from Wentzville, Missouri and I played lacrosse in high school. I am a big animal lover! I have a guinea pig named Snickers and an awesome dog named Ace. My family is a huge part of my life and I enjoy spending lots of time with them. After college, I plan on going straight into the work force and serving my community.

While in Panama, I spent two weeks working with the conservation of sea turtles; which involved protecting nesting mothers from poachers and releasing baby turtles into the sea. My interest include spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, and traveling.

Hello everyone, my name is Datiana Guerrero! I love 80's music and my favorite singer is Billy Joel! I have a extremely diverse music pallet and I enjoy all types of genres. I LOVE the color orange because it makes me happy. I am currently enrolled in school and majoring in Political Science. I have changed it a few times, but they say that change is good. My favorite time of year is Autumn, because it is not too cold or too hot, it's the perfect weather. I love seafood, so taking me out to dinner could prove extremely expensive! Also, I have two small dogs in my life named Bennie & Casey and they go everywhere with me. I work as a Mary Kay independent beauty consultant when I am not at the MS Society.

I am excited to be the Development Intern for the MS Society’s Gateway Area Chapter! I am a graduate student pursuing my M.S. in Engineering Management with a certificate in Project Management from Missouri S&T as a distance student in St. Louis, MO. I have interned with a handful of large for-profit companies during my undergrad years (three in the St. Louis area), so I will be actively exploring the opportunities associated with working for a renowned nonprofit organization. My hobbies include writing, singing, and listening to music, playing tennis, running, outdoor activities with friends, writing/blogging, photography, volunteering, spending time with friends and family, and last but not least, playing mommy for my two amazing rescue dogs.
Lauren Masterson

My name is Lauren Masterson and I am a graduate student at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy Administration (MPPA) with an emphasis in Health Policy. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in May of 2011 from UMSL. I am also a graduate assistant at UMSL with the Center for Teaching and Learning where I work on service related projects. I am a very active member of the UMSL community; I have served as a site leader at UMSL’s MLK Day of Service, and have been involved with various student organizations throughout my time as a student, the organizations include: Pierre Laclede Honors College Student Association, Associated Students of the University of Missouri, Students of Service, Hispanic Latino Student Association, and College Republicans. After completing my MPPA I plan on pursuing a PhD in global health.

I am from University City, MO, but lived out of state from 1973 until 1993—mostly in Colorado, but also in Nebraska, Washington state and New Mexico. I worked as a legal secretary, court clerk, secretary and bookkeeper, then finished my BSW at UMSL in May 2011.

My name is Tamara Scott and I am an intern at the NMSS-Gateway Chapter. I graduated from Belleville East High School, in Belleville, Illinois, in 2006 and moved away for college. I returned to St. Louis after spending three years living between Alabama & Georgia. I liked the south a lot and hopefully can move back there one day. I am currently finishing up my BA in Communications with a PR Certificate at UMSL. I have an anticipated graduation date of December, 2012, and I am extremely excited! One of the main reasons I became involved with the MS Society is my mother. She was diagnosed with MS in 2005 and it has been a life altering situation. I appreciate everything that this organization does for those affected with this desease and I am greatful that I am able to help facilitate the betterment of others lives & well being.

My name is Yujun Liu and I am a graduate student at Washington University in St. Louis. My major is Social Work and my concentration is Gerontology and Health. I was born in China, and my undergraduate major was in Public Management. Before coming here, I volunteered at an Elderly College in Yantai, China, and I also was a volunteer teacher and taught primary school students English. This is my first experience living and studying abroad; everything is new and exciting for me. I am very excited to be an intern at the National MS Society. I am sure that I will learn a lot of new things through this internship. I really look forward to the experience here!
