Kylee Paitz (Pie-tz)
Event Planning & Logistics ~ Cape Girardeau
Development Department

Hello, my name is Kylee Paitz and I am a senior at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. I plan on graduating in December with my degree in Public Relations and a minor in Sports Management. I am originally from St. Charles and am obsessed with Cardinals Baseball, which lead me to my minor. Though, I have an undying love for baseball, I became interested in non-Profit organizations, particularly the MS Society, because my grandfather has had MS for as long as I can remember. My love of Public Relations and Marketing brought me to my current job as a Promotions Coordinator with J and L Marketing. I work on weekends and get to travel to different car dealerships, which is always VERY interesting. When I’m not working I like to swim, hang out with my friends or go to Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas where I can relax or wake board. I am so glad to be an intern with the MS Society and I can’t wait to see what great things I will get to become involved!

Angela Kemp
Non-Profit Adminstration Intern ~ Columbia
Community Development Department

I have lived in Columbia for about 11 years, but am originally from Massachusetts, which makes me a diehard Patriots fan (sorry!). I have two boy cats named Milo and Roux. I consider myself a bit of a Disney, movie, and trivia nerd.  I have always had a passion for the arts, which led me to my current field. I most enjoy photography, interior design, and perpetually have some sort of DIY project in progress. However, while at MU I discovered I had even more passion for service work. My association with Mizzou Alternative Spring Breaks led me on service trips to a ranching community in Colorado, a Native American Reservation in South Dakota, and even an orphanage in rural Dominican Republic. These experiences have led me through a career transition and I will be pursuing an MPA for Non-Profit Management post-graduation.

Missi Robbins
Marketing Intern ~ Columbia
Community Development Department
I am from O’Fallon, MO and am a junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia studying Communications. With my degree I plan to work in Public Relations, and have aspirations of working for the Walt Disney Company. In 2001 my mother was diagnosed with MS, and this past year my aunt was diagnosed as well. With MS having such an impact on my life, this internship has a special meaning to not only make a difference for others with this disease, but for my family as well. I was the Editor-in-Chief of her high school newspaper The Solitaire, Editor-in-Chief of the Missouri Girls State Gazette and Managing Editor for St. Charles Community College’s SCCougar newspaper and AMBUSH magazine. I was also a recipient of the MS Gateway Area Chapter scholarship in 2009. Outside of school and interning, I enjoy traveling (especially to the beach or Walt Disney World), playing with my cat Lola, and is eagerly planning to marry her high school sweetheart in February of 2014.

Hello! I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. I have one sister named Kristen. She is currently in college at WASHU. I attended Gateway Academy high school. I transfered to Mizzou this semester and really enjoy it there. Upon graduation, I plan to continue my studies with an MBA degree. My favorite class I've ever taken was Intro to Archaeology. I have received archeology magazines in the mail since I was ten years old. I have one small Pomeranian mix dog named Snup. In my free time, I like to volunteer at the Humane Society. I enjoy cooking as well! I like to keep updated with new recipies on Pinterest. I am always on the hunt for the ultimate gluten-free cookie recipe. One little known fact about me is that I love to fish. I would love to visit Ireland and Australia. I enjoy looking through pictures and dreaming about those places.

Melissa Craig
Social Work Intern
Programs & Services Department
Hi! I’m Melissa and I am a graduate student at SLU working toward my MSW with a school specialization. I am looking forward to graduating, although I am not sure what I want to do after graduation. Currently, I act as a jack of all trades at Bandana’s BBQ. When I am not working or studying, I like to be out and about. I love going to concerts, hockey games, movies, anything really. Recently, I have taken an interest in running and have been participating in 5k races, while entertaining the idea of a half marathon, someday. Otherwise, I love all types of music, bright colors, dancing, yoga pants and Blues hockey.

Tamara Scott
Marketing Intern
Volunteer Community Outreach Department

My name is Tamara Scott and I am an intern at the NMSS-Gateway Chapter. I graduated from Belleville East High School, in Belleville, Illinois, in 2006 and moved away for college. I returned to St. Louis after spending three years living between Alabama & Georgia. I liked the south a lot and hopefully can move back there one day. I am currently finishing up my BA in Communications with a PR Certificate at UMSL. I have an anticipated graduation date of December, 2012, and I am extremely excited!  One of the main reasons I became involved with the MS Society is my mother. She was diagnosed with MS in 2005 and it has been a life altering situation. I appreciate everything that this organization does for those affected with this disease and I am grateful that I am able to help facilitate the betterment of others lives & well being.

Taylor Minor
Community Engagement Intern
Volunteer Community Outreach Department

I have lived in the St. Peters, MO area for the past 18 years, and I love every bit of it. I am a senior at University of Missouri – Saint Louis (UMSL), hopefully graduating next summer – July 2013. I’m pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology, with a minor in Marketing. My hopes after graduation are to get a job within the field of social media and marketing. Even though my major is in Sociology, my passion lies with the marketing aspect of it all. I’m a creative person that loves coming up with new ideas, and I cannot wait to apply that to my job after college. Being able to obtain an internship at the National MS Society – Gateway Chapter, as a Community Engagement Intern, has been wonderful so far. And, I know that everything that I learn in the upcoming months will be just as great.
