The following announcement comes from Pat Knoerle-Jordan, Director of The MS Center of Saint Louis (formerly known as West County MS Center):
We are happy to share the newly developed brand for the West County MS Center. Upon concluding our 2014-2016 Strategic Plan this past summer, we were clear that we were overdue with the launch of our new brand.
The MS Center of Saint Louis is the pioneer in comprehensive, multi-disciplinary holistic MS care in the region.
Our new name better reflects the unique model of care within the region and the comprehensive scope of interdisciplinary care for over 2200 MS patients and their families. The attached postcard says it well; Some things change, some things stay the same. This postcard is being mailed to our patients, families, and friends of the Center the week of October 14th – but I wanted you to have advance notice because of your valued relationship.
A bit of background; The MS Center of Saint Louis was launched in 2000, (previously West County MS Center) by Dr. Barbara Green, recognized the need for holistic care for MS patients, after devoting her practice to MS patients. Dr. Barbara Green continues to serve as Medical Director of the Center, in her role with Mercy Clinic Neurology. Mary Kay Fink, APN, MSCN, a veteran Mercy nurse, immediately came on board to develop the clinical services. The Center became a nonprofit in 2003 and is supported through donations, grants and special events in addition to reimbursed services, in addition to our long standing partnership with Mercy Hospital St. Louis.
Dr. Amy Rauchway joined the team in 2011 through Mercy Clinic Neurology. The Center’s robust menu of services provided on-site and collaborative practice model is unique in healthcare and provides high quality services through a team of four MS Certified Nurses, a LCSW Care Manager, and very lean administrative team – all Mercy Co-workers.
What to expect? This rebranding discussion began two years ago, with a capacity building marketing grant, and continued while we assembled the resources to move forward. In addition to print materials, you will see The MS Center of Saint Louis on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and the Center’s website; mscenterstl.org over the next 6-8 weeks.
What can you do to support this effort? Feedback, referrals, and sharing this announcement with others are all welcome. Additionally, our 9th Annual Trivia Night and Auction is March 29th 2014,is always great fun and welcomes purchase of tables and donation of attractive auction baskets. This event supports unfunded services to MS patients such as the Nurses Line, patient education, care management and charity care.
We thank you for your past support and trust you will continue to believe in the mission of The MS Center of Saint Louis.
