What is The Heights?
The Heights is an innovative collaboration between the National MS Society and NHC of Town & Country, a skilled nursing facility in St. Louis County. Residents are in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, and tend to have different interests than the typical nursing home resident. Programs, activities and emotional support are specific to persons living with MS who have transitioned into long-term placement.
What does a Heights Buddy do?
During regularly scheduled visits, a volunteer buddy will socially interact with the residents. Activities include: playing board or card games, watching movies together, having coffee together, playing or listening to music together, completing craft projects, helping to organize specific activities or festivities, assisting with chores, building relationships with the residents and staff at The Heights
Heights Buddies build strong relationships with the residents while participating in outings and activities at the Heights.
