Carol spent her formative years in Albany, New York and she graduated from Maria College with a degree in nursing. After 10 years in the healthcare industry, she chose to take on the financial world where she graduated with a degree in finance from Florida Atlantic University.
As a community activist, Carol is involved in civic causes along with many organizations including The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Jewish Federation of Broward County, Jewish Women’s Foundation and Young Israel of Hollywood.
She became involved in the National MS Society over 20 years ago to lead support to her dear friend Carrie Schulman in her fight against MS. After Carrie’s diagnosis, Carol provided support to Carrie and her family and much of her time was spent learning about MS and raising awareness in the community. She recruits teams to walk for MS, raises funds and sponsor events, including the annual MS Gala & Fashion Show.
She and her husband, Howard Bienenfeld have been married for 26 years and are blessed with four children and four grandchildren. Interestingly enough they were introduced to each other by Carrie and David Schulman. She loves gardening, growing orchids and traveling to her second home in Israel.
