A Multicenter, Double Blind, Parallel Group Placebo Controlled Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Teriflunomide in Patients with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis who are treated with Interferon-beta. EFC6058: NCT01252355

Teriflunimide

Teriflunimide is an oral agent being developed for the treatment of relapsing-remitting MS. As a monotherapy it is effective in decreasing relapse rates, disability progression, and new MRI lesions. It’s effects were modest and it has a good safety profile. In combination with interferons in phase II trials it appears highly effective. The combination of interferon and teriflunimide could be as effective as Ocrelizumab or Tysabri with a superior safety profile. The TERACLES trial will evaluate the effect of combination therapy with interferon plus Teriflunimide.

To be eligible for this trial patients must be between the ages of 18 and 55 and must have had at least one relapse in the year prior to study entry while on interferon. They are then randomized to receive either placebo plus interferon or teriflunimide plus interferon.

Please use the NC ID number provided for each study and visit the clinicaltrials.gov website for more specific information on each study being conducted.
