Dr. Conway serves as Medical Director of the MS Center and Director of Neurology Education at the CMC Neuroscience and Spine Institute in Charlotte. In addition to seeing a number of newly-diagnosed patients, she is involved in numerous MS clinical trials. Her research interests include cognitive function in MS, treatment of mood disorders in MS, new and emerging therapies, NMO and issues related to women and MS.

Dr. Conway earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois. She's had additional graduate work in philosophy, ethics, and clinical research. She completed her neurology residency at the University of Pennsylvania and a two-year multiple sclerosis fellowship, with a clinical research focus, at the University of Pennsylvania. Her fellowship training was sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She currently works at the Carolinas Medical Center MS Center in the neurology department and is also neurology clerkship director for UNC-Charlotte medical students.

Dr. Conway has longstanding interests in clinical ethics and clinical research ethics, and serves on Carolinas Medical Center's Ethics Committee. She is a member of the Mid-Atlantic National MS Society Clinical Advisory Committee. She has served on the Ethics, Law, and Humanities Subcommittee of the American Academy of Neurology.

Her practice is focused exclusively on multiple sclerosis, including working with patients, overseeing MS research and teaching in the Department of Neurology. Following medical school, she completed a two-year fellowship sponsored by the National MS Society at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a frequent speaker at MS Society events because of her practical, down-to-earth approach. Her keynote address, “What’s New in MS Research,” will focus on the latest research advances and their impact on people with MS. Her presentation will also look at treatment advances in the pipeline and what could be next to improve the lives of people with MS.
