Are you newly diagnosed, feeling overwhelmed and finding you have more questions than answers?

People who are newly diagnosed can sometimes experience fear and hopelessness. The National MS Society, Mid-Atlantic Chapter will present three Newly Diagnosed teleconferences featuring Dr. Kym Furney.  Dr. Furney, who was diagnosed in 2000 and author of the book, ”When the Diagnosis is Multiple Sclerosis: Help, Hope & Insights from an Affected Physician” will reflect on her personal experiences after diagnosis.  She will discuss the many challenges from depression, telling others about having MS and understanding the impact that MS may have on career choices.

Her insights will empower people who are newly diagnosed by offering help in understanding medical perspectives as well as coping with the effects of the disease. While solutions will be different for each person living with MS, this teleconference will bring hope and will let the participants know they are not alone in their experience.

The teleconferences will be from 7:00pm-8:00pm. To register, click on the date you wish to participate:

Monday, September 12, 2011
