Cognitive functions can become impaired due to aging, disease or injury. They can also be affected temporarily by tension, emotional disturbances, menopause, fatigue, nutrition and some medications.

  • When you are trying to learn something new, give yourself extra time to practice.
  • Plan your most challenging cognitive tasks for your best time of the day.
  • Keep challenging your mind with puzzles, reading, stimulating conversation, video games, etc.
  • Work on focus and concentration.
