How many practicum hours are required?
The number of hours varies depending upon the demands of your particular higher education institution and respective field of study. The National MS Society will accept interns who need to complete between 100 to 600 hours of service per semester. You have the flexibility to determine the total number of hours you wish to intern with the Society. The total hours must be arranged prior to beginning your internship.

Can I receive academic credit for my service?
If your higher education institution offers academic credits for your internship, we will complete any necessary documentation. The Volunteer Engagement Director will serve as the liaison between your university and the Society with any necessary documentation.

What are the qualifications?
The intern must be an undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university. It is not necessary that the student receives academic credit for their internship with the Society. All internships have specific qualifications.
