Bike MS: Breakaway to the Beach Weekend Ride Options
Something for Everyone!
Bike MS Double Century (200 miles)
Are you a hardcore cyclist worried that the Breakaway to the Beach might be too easy? Well, think again! We are offering you the opportunity to complete a Double Century. Enjoy 200 miles of fun, safe, and scenic roads that will challenge even the strongest cyclists. On Saturday, choose the Century route option from either start site. Then, on Sunday, make the Century start from Francis Marion University. This is one challenge you will never forget!
Bike MS 175
Perhaps you enjoy a challenge but want a little warm-up ride before going all out. The Bike MS 175 will allow you to take it easy on Saturday by riding one of the 75-mile routes. Then, on Sunday, follow it up with the challenge of the Century start from Francis Marion University.
Bike MS 150
Ride the distance that started it all: 150 miles. This is a challenge that any rider can be proud of. This option requires you to take on one of the Century routes on Saturday but rewards you with a nice 50-mile spin on Sunday. If you choose this option, we will transport your bicycle overnight to the 50-mile start site. On Sunday morning, you will go directly from your hotel to this start site where you will mount up and go...rolling-start style as you complete the end of your weekend journey. Both Sunday routes follow the same roads; the 50 mile start site is simply located 50 miles down the route. Click here for FAQs about the Sunday 50-mile route.
Bike MS 125
Are you in it for the fun? Then, the 125-mile option is just what the doctor ordered. Simply ride the 75-mile route options on Saturday and the 50-mile route option on Sunday.
Bike MS One Day Riders Welcomed
Cyclists who can only ride one of the two days are always welcome to join Breakaway to the Beach! Bring your bike and join us on any of the designated routes for either day. Along the way, you'll enjoy all of the same support including rest stops, mechanical and SAG support, lunch, plus a fully catered dinner wherever you finish. A few details to know if you can only ride Saturday or Sunday with us:
One-day cyclists can ride either Saturday or Sunday from any designated start site they chose. One-day cyclists must provide their own transportation to their selected start site and back at the end of the day. Bike MS and the National MS Society, Greater Carolinas Chapter cannot provide transportation for one-day cyclists or their bicycles. Sunday shuttle buses and bicycle transfer trucks will return to original Saturday start sites only. They will not return to either of the Sunday start sites. Registration fees and minimum fund raising requirements are not reduced or discounted for one-day cyclists. Bike MS safety standards, ride requirements, and rules apply to all cyclists during the event.
