When you support Bike MS, you become a part of the powerful movement that will end MS forever.

Good Stewards

The National MS Society, Mid-Atlantic Chapter, is determined to make sure that the largest possible amount of fundraising dollars go straight to people with MS. See our annual financial reports. Last year, 81.8% of our expenses were mission-related, funding:

  • ground-breaking research for better treatments and a cure
  • advocacy to champion the rights of people with MS
  • programs and services to enhance the quality of life of people with MS

How Your Dollars Make a Difference

  • $10 provides 3 educational booklets for a person newly diagnosed with MS.
  • $25 pays for one couple to attend an overnight retreat.
  • $50 funds one family weekend or social event.
  • $75 provides a basic access ramp for a home.
  • $100 pays for bathroom safety grab bars or one wellness program at the YMCA.
  • $250 funds a Physical or Occupational Therapy assessment.
  • $500 provides financial assistance to a family struggling with rent.
  • $1,000 pays for one month of consumable lab supplies for a research project or the co-pay on an electric scooter.
  • $3,000 funds one month of a post-doctoral fellowship to train a future MS researcher or physician.
  • $5,000 creates a memorial scholarship to help a student attend college who has MS or has a parent with MS.
  • $44,000 funds a one-year research grant to a scientist seeking better treatments or a cure for MS.

Bike MS participants and supporters significantly contribute to the many resources the National MS Society offers. It is because of your dedication that the 8,000 individuals affected by MS in our Chapter area can receive the emotional, physical, financial and educational support they need. Thank you!
