You Care about Someone with MS
Caring for someone with MS requires perseverance and faith. We recognize the important role you play in the life of someone close to you who has MS. Our chapter offers respite care while you travel or go for a doctor’s appointment. We also offer programs for parents whose children have MS. For those children whose parents have MS, we offer weekend retreats and manage a Kid's Fund that supports the purchase of soccer uniforms, YMCA memberships and more. We also offer college scholarships, self-help groups and a variety of other resources.
You Would Like to Participate in a Fundraising Event
Participating in an event is a fun and rewarding way to raise funds that are used towards MS research, programs, services, and advocacy. Have you ever walked with thousands of people? Or perhaps, biking along the North Carolina coast is more your thing. Or do you want the ultimate challenge: an obstacle course through miles of water, mud and muck? Regardless of how you want to participate, we will provide you with fundraising tools and safety and training support.
You Would Like to Volunteer Your Time and Talents
There are numerous ways in which you can share your time and talents with the chapter. You can apply your professional expertise OR run a rest stop at one of our fundraising events OR educate the community about MS through the Talk MS Speaker’s Bureau OR serve on the MS Scholarship Team to provide scholarships to children whose parents have MS. The options for service are endless.
You Would Like to Advocate
An MS activist works to influence federal, state and local governments to develop or change policies and programs that affect people with MS. Contacting your elected official about a MS issue and asking for change on an issue by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper are just some ways of getting involved in activism. Explore our resources, follow our chapter advocacy blog and meet activists in your community to learn more about how you can give voice to people living with MS.
You Would Like to Make a Financial Donation
As a donor, you can be rest assured that the hard-earned dollars you donate are being put to good use for educational programs, wellness programs, equipment loans, emergency assistance, advocacy, as well as camps and education for children whose parents have MS.
