- Center for Universal Design – NCSU: A national information center that develops and promotes accessible and universal design in housing, commercial and public facilities and outdoor environments. - NC Housing Finance Agency: The agency’s mission is to create affordable housing opportunities in NC. The Agency provides financing through the sale of tax-exempt bonds and management of federal and state tax credit programs, the federal HOME Program, the state Housing Trust Fund, and other programs. - Department of Housing and Urban Development: Provides information about homeownership, rental assistance, fair housing, section 8 housing, and discrimination. NC office is based in Greensboro and can be reached at 336-547-4001

North Carolina Resources
- Disability Rights and Resources: The mission of the organiztion is to guard the civil rights of people with disabilities by empowering them and others to live as they choose. Visit them for information on advocacy, community integration, independent living skills, information and referral, and peer mentoring.
- NC Independent Living Services: Independent Living Services assists individuals with disabilities in achieving independence by providing services that enable these individuals to live and function in the homes and communities of their choice. Services include: Independent living skills training, Home and vehicle modifications, Peer counseling and advocacy, adaptive aids, prosthetics, orthotics, Recreational therapy, leisure activities.
South Carolina Resources
- Disability Action Center: The DAC is a nonprofit, consumer controlled Center for Independent Living that provides an array of services to people of all ages with all types of disabilities in 23 counties in SC. The DAC’s programs and services provide knowledge and tools to assist people with disabilities to reach their independent living goals.
- Protection & Advocacy for People with Disabilities, Inc.: PANDASC is an independent, statewide, non-profit corporation that protects and advances the legal rights of people with disabilities.
