Golden Corral – Educate, Empower, Impact
MS should not stand in the way of an education. The National MS Society’s Scholarship Program exists to help qualified students who have been diagnosed with MS or who have a parent with MS achieve their dreams of going to college.
To help remove the barriers for those students impacted by MS, Golden Corral launched an initiative in 2011 in partnership with the two NC-based Chapters of the National MS Society. Golden Corral restaurants in western North Carolina in addition to some participating locations in South Carolina raised $170,000 over the last two years. Last year the initiative provided scholarships to 39 recipients. The campaign is aimed at expanding the scholarship offerings made by the Chapters to first-time college students living with MS or the children whose parents live with MS. The campaign continued for its third year beginning July 15 and ending August 31, 2013 and raised $62,000.
Golden Corral is no stranger to the movement to help create a world free of MS. Their support began back in 2006 in the Charlotte area Walk MS event. From supporting the local Walk MS team to feeding the walkers and volunteers, the commitment has been evident and steadfast.
