At the highest level of Leadership volunteerism, the Board of Trustees provides management direction and develops policies that address the organization's goals in an effort to best achieve our mission to end the devastating effects of MS. The Board meets quarterly and consists of a group of prominent individuals from both the corporate sector and the community, chaired by an executive committee. Utilizing their expertise, contacts and resources, members serve as goodwill ambassadors, advocates, and fundraisers.
NMSS Board Members have had a myriad of opportunities to be fully engaged in the activity of the Board, including subcommittee work in the following areas:
- Executive Committee - Provides leadership to the Board of Trustees. Positions include the Chairman,Vice Chairmen, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
- Governance Committee - Assesses and implementsprocedures and plans for Board recruitment, nomination,responsibilities and attrition.
- Finance Committee - Assures proper management of Chapter finances and safeguarding of all funds received by the chapter in accordance with regulations established by the Board of Trustees.
