Educational Seminars and Programs
The NJ Metro Chapter offers a variety of educational programs throughout the year, through Educational Teleconferences, Self Help Groups/ Peer Support or through specific in-person seminars. Topics range from research to symptom management to family issues and more.
The Chapter’s 2013 Research Symposium was held on Saturday April 20th.
If you were unable to attend the Research Symposium you can access a copy of the presentations from that day. Click here to view the presentation on Cognition Research Projects and click here to view a copy of the presentation on Advances in Progressive MS.
For the Newly Diagnosed
The Chapter may offer special meetings or teleconferences throughout the year, however you may want information sooner than a scheduled call or meeting. You can get more information from the following National MS Society programs:
MS Next Step®
Hearing the diagnosis of MS is never easy. MS Next Step® is designed to answer questions that are commonly asked immediately following a diagnosis and provides an introduction to MS and the programs and services of the National MS Society. (Also available in Spanish).
Knowledge is Power
Knowledge Is Power is a free, in-home educational series for people newly diagnosed with MS and their families. This comprehensive program provides up-to-date facts about many aspects of MS. (Also available in Spanish).
Online learning through the National MS Society
The National MS Society is proud to offer seven online courses to enhance the programs and educational opportunities offered at chapters around the nation. The courses provide on-demand information that can be accessed at your convenience. These online courses bring interactive and immediate information to you when, and where, you want it. Course completion times average from 2 to 4 hours, depending on the amount of information and interaction you prefer. In fact, it is recommended that you complete the classes at your leisure and not all in one sitting. In some cases, you may be seeking specific information. At these times using the course menu and going immediately to the topic may be preferable. Click here for a complete menu of interesting online classes.
