Educational Opportunities for Professionals

The chapter often sponsors educational opportunities for physicians and other allied health professionals. The chapter also conducts in-service training programs and seminars for healthcare professionals in hospitals, long-term care facilities, independent living agencies and home health agencies.These programs provide the opportunity to share the latest and most practical techniques, advice and information with professionals who interact daily with MS.

The Professional Resource Center expands the Society’s support of health professionals involved in the care of people with MS and their families.


When your Patient with MS Gets Sick
A FREE at home professional education program, with CEUs for nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians and physician assistants

“When Your Patient with MS Gets Sick” is a 90-minute DVD program. Upon completion and the return of the post-test and program evaluation, you will be entitled to one and a half hours of continuing education hours.

The home study course must be completed by August 21, 2012 in order to receive the free continuing education hours.

To complement this home study program, the NMSS is offering a special teleconference/webinar to enhance your knowledge of MS and the professional resources at your disposal at the National MS Society.

 The Janet Pearce Multiple Sclerosis Nurse Training Program

The 2012 Janet Pearce Nurse Education Program took place March 23 - 24, and was training program for nurses interested or currently working in the MS field.
