Emotional Health

Emotional health programs help support and assist people with MS and their families in adapting and coping with the changes that living with multiple sclerosis may bring.

The Ohio Buckeye Chapter offers the following options to help improve the emotional well being:

MS Craft Class – Held every Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. at the administrative Offices at Goodwill Industries, 540 Waterloo Road, Akron.

Art Therapy - A way to express yourself, to relax, to meditate, to explore your creative self. Art is truly therapeutic!

MSWorld College Chat - Starting college should be an exciting time in a young person's life. Add living with MS to the mix and it can become stressful and frightening. This online chat is designed specifically for college-aged individuals with MS.

Info for Kids and Teens - Kids and teens diagnosed with MS or those who have a parent or loved one with MS can benefit from contacting the National MS Society. There is also special age-appropriate information available.

Visitation - Opportunities exist for people with limited social interactions to receive on-going supportive communications.

Friendly Visiting and Peer Support - The Visitation and Peer Support Program helps direct you to programs, services and resources that are specific to your needs. A trained volunteer or staff person will visit you in person, by phone or by e-mail - your choice. To take advantage of this free program, contact us at 800-344-4867.
