Dr. Amy Gutmann |
Congratulations to this year's Woman of Spirit honoree Dr. Amy Gutmann, president, University of Pennsylvania! And many thanks to Keynote Speaker Zoe Koplowitz, a motivational speaker who lives with multiple sclerosis and is a true inspiration to women, for helping us create a world free of MS at the 10th annual WAMS Luncheon.

The Luncheon has raised an estimated $150,000, the highest amount in its 10-year history, and these funds will be essential to research projects taking place in centers around the world and critical programs and services for local people living with MS.
About Women Against MS
While much remains unknown about MS, researchers know that multiple sclerosis affects women in far greater numbers than men. In fact, four times more women than men are diagnosed with this unpredictable disease. Across the nation, women from all walks of life are joining together through the WAMS initiative. WAMS serves to educate women about MS and to broaden their knowledge about the work and mission of the National MS Society.
Locally, the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National MS Society hosts its annual WAMS Luncheon in May followed by a WAMS Cocktail Night in October. Hundreds of local women will come together during the annual luncheon and the evening reception.
Funds raised through this event are dedicated to services and programs for local people living with MS, in addition to worldwide research into the cause, cure and treatment of the disease.
