SEPTA opens center to teach people with disabilities to ride

SEPTA opened a new "accessible travel center" in Suburban Station on Thursday to make it easier for commuters with disabilities to learn to use buses, subways and trains.

The center has a full-size replica of the front third of a SEPTA bus and mock subway and rail platforms, as well as training videos and piped-in street and train sounds.

The center is open by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling 215-580-7145 or on the Web at www.septa.org/access.

Chapter now accepting Community Impact Grant applications

The purpose of the Community Impact Grant is to help expand services for those impacted by multiple sclerosis in our chapter area. Areas for funding are aligned with the organization’s strategic response. The committee is interested in receiving proposals that address one or more of the key focuses of the strategic response.
