FUNDRAISING EVENTS

WALK MS
Join the movement with hundreds of other volunteers at one of 18 springtime Walk MS events throughout the region. These community-based celebrations are the Society’s most accessible events, and they’re the easiest way to meet people with MS and see our mission in action.

MUCKRUCKUS MS PHILLY
Be part of the Mud Squad! We need 250 volunteers to make this event a success. With jobs ranging from lifeguarding to directing participants through muddy obstacles to building and taking down the course, we're sure to have something to fit your personality.

BIKE MS
Each ride offers beautiful terrain and friendly people while providing its own unique experience for participants and volunteers. We welcome volunteers at Bike MS events throughout the region, from Montgomery and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania to Camden and Atlantic counties in New Jersey.

CHALLENGE WALK MS
Challenge Walk MS is a two-day, 30-mile walk to a world free of MS. Volunteers can experience this event by signing up for a single day or by supporting the walkers both days as a crew member. You are sure to meet new friends and make lasting memories during this special weekend.

Walk MS, MuckRuckus MS Philly and Challenge Walk MS Community Consultants – Be a part of planning an event in your own community. Volunteers should be willing to use their professional and personal connections to bring attention and revenue to the event. Contact us if you are interested in this position.

Bike MS: City to Shore Planning Team – Help promote the event, act as a liaison with local communities and promote safety on the ride. CLIENT SERVICES AND PROFESSIONAL VOLUNTEERING

Community Service Investigator (CSI)
These volunteers assist in identifying accurate and accessible resources for people affected by MS. The information about these resources helps the society to provide high quality referrals and services throughout all communities in the chapter.

On-site Programs Support
Helping with our educational programs and workshops is a great chance to learn more about the issues affecting people with MS and their caregivers, as well as the latest research toward creating a world free of this disease. Contact us if you are interested in this position.

Support Group Leader
The chapter offers more than 30 regional and specialty groups throughout the Greater Delaware Valley. If you are interested in becoming a leader in your area, contact Pat Thieringer.

Allied Health and Medical Professionals
Assist on our Speaker's Bureau, our Clinical Advisory Committee, specialized programs for members and more.

Business Advisory Council Volunteer
We're seeking vocational rehabilitation counselors, human resources professionals, employment specialists, and other professionals with experience in the corporate world to form a new business advisory council. This council will help design and implement new employment services for the chapter. Click here to learn more and apply.

Pro Bono Counselor:
We are seeking licensed, professional counselors to take on one client with multiple sclerosis pro bono per year. Volunteers will provide counseling support to an individual or family in need, communicate any needs/issues of clients back to chapter staff and agree to receive ongoing professional education and training on multiple sclerosis. Scholarship volunteer
The scholarship volunteers will create online resource guide for families that explains and provides links to resources to pay for college. Click here to learn more or click here to apply.

Grants volunteer
Grants volunteers will identify and write grants for existing services provided by the chapter as well as for new services and public policy efforts. Volunteers also will identify key foundations and relationships between foundation staff and the MS community. They also will track all foundations in the chapter’s computer database. Health insurance volunteer
Health insurance volunteers will assist in the management of the Health Insurance Initiative Project (HIIP). The volunteers will ensure information on the HIIP Web site is accurate and up to date, assist clients in their health insurance appeals and research and write policy papers on health insurance-related issues. ADVOCACY

Join the MS Action Network
Learn about legislation affecting people with MS by signing up for Action Alerts. We will provide you with the tools to contact your elected officials to make your voice heard.

MS Advocate
This is a dedicated group making its mark against MS by speaking to local service clubs and encouraging local media to raise awareness of the fight against the disease. Click here to sign up now.


OFFICE SUPPORT

Individual Giving and Corporate Events Volunteer
Support our staff working on major corporate campaigns including Women Against MS and Leadership Program, as well as individual donors and major gifts.

Volunteer Engagment Administrative support
Support the volunteer engagement department with registration and coordination of volunteers, data management and helping to provide quality customer service.

Development Administrative Assistant
This volunteer will assist the volunteer manager in the registration and coordination of development event volunteers and data management as it relates to volunteer registrations and assignments, answer some phone calls and providing quality customer service and assist with general administrative duties.

Client Services Administrative Assistant
This person will assist in converting current filing system to new updated system, make follow-up client calls, do some computer work -- data entry, online research -- and assist in general administrative duties (i.e. copying, faxing, mail preparation).

Data Entry Clerk - Event Processing
The event processors will help enter day-of donations for major fundraising events as well as other data entry needs.

Data Entry Clerk - Account Cleanup
Account cleanup volunteers will help ensure that all undeliverable mail that is received is properly processed in a timely manner, and they also will ensure that duplicate mailings are not sent out.

Reporting Analyst
This volunteer will assist in pulling reports from the organization’s databases and manipulating and formatting the data.

Events Publicist
The event publicists will have the important role of spreading awareness about the Society’s fundraising events in media throughout the region.
