The Western Pennsylvania Chapter is committed to enhancing the quality of life for people living with MS by helping members obtain needed items or services through our financial assistance program. The program assists Western Pennsylvania Chapter members who have MS and need:

♦ short-term homecare
♦ crisis assistance
♦ scholarships
► Respite Care - The Western Pennsylvania Chapter provides assistance in arranging and financing temporary respite care for family carepartners to give them a break from their caregiving responsibilities. Respite can be provided in-home or in a long-term care facility.
► Two Local MS Clinics - The Western Pennsylvania Chapter is associated with two outpatient MS Centers:

► Long Term Care Insurance - Long term care insurance may help pay for care in your own Home, in an Assisted Living Facility or a Nursing Home. At this writing, we are aware of only one commercial insurer, United Security Assurance, who is able to offer these policies to eligible people with MS, and who live in the state of PA. The coverage is limited to those individuals that are able to perform all of their activities of daily living (such as walking, bathing, or eating) independently, and do not utilize assistant devices such as a walker, wheelchair or scooter.
