Honoring Buford Pusser
Honorary Chair - Dwana Pusser Garrison

The purpose of the Legacy of Leadership campaign is to raise money for the National MS Society, to beautify the community with a piece of art and to honor a deserving individual. A work of art will be commissioned to honor the legacy of Buford Pusser as a permanent reminder of his service to the community.

 This campaign honors a man who, to this day, makes an impression on the lives of others. It also honors and supports his daughter Dwana who has been living with multiple sclerosis for the past thirteen years. Each case of multiple sclerosis is different and manifests itself in different ways. In Dwana’s case, she is almost constantly in pain. She endures terrible spasms and has started to have problems with her vision. In true Pusser fashion, she walks tall, although lately that has been increasingly more difficult to do.

 Thirty-seven years have elapsed since his tragic death, yet Buford Pusser’s legacy in the community remains strong. He is a true American hero and a legendary figure – deserving of this recognition. Please consider making a contribution to this campaign at one of the levels identified on the enclosed brochure. Your support will help fund research to cure multiple sclerosis, provide financial support for local people living with MS and recognize the contributions of a community leader.
