Caregivers are very important to people with MS. This spotlight is about Mitch Stelly who provides care to his wife Lisa.
My caregiver is my husband. I have had MS for 12 years and he has been through it all with me. He takes me to my doctor appointments, which is a 2 hour ride – stopping every hour so I can get out and move around and never complains. He keeps me going with his love and support. With him at my side, I feel there is nothing that we can’t do. He is the one who always say, “well, it will be better tomorrow and you can do anything you put your mind to”. He has been my rock and my hero. He works two jobs since I can’t and has never made me feel guilty or has never showed any resentment. He tells people his wife has MS which means to him I am Mighty Special. My husband Mitch is truly a gift from God!!
