MIDLAND

Classes will be held in Midland at COM Aquatics, 3003 North A Street, Midland, TX 79705. Classes are from 12:15-1:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a no impact workout method of exercise and is designed to: Increase activity level, facilitate independent mobility and provide a support system for individuals with MS. Classes are held in a heated (84-86 degrees Fahrenheit) six foot deep pool. All classes taught by a fitness specialist knowledgeable about MS. All participants will be provided a flotation belt to wear during the class and any other equipment necessary. Pool entry features graduated stairs and a handrail or chair lift if needed. Participants who require personal assistance will need to bring someone to assist them before, during and after the exercise session. No charge for an assistant. Cost is $10 per month. This fee will cover the cost for 12:15 class offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For information contact Lissa Giacco at 713-394-2928 or 800-323-4783

Gentle water aerobics class designed with special attention to stretching, toning and strengthening, including balance exercises.   Performed in chest deep water utilizing slow, deep breathing and a wide range of movements giving a true feel of control, balance, and coordination.   Adaptive deep water exercises using flotation devices are included but suitable to your comfort level. Great for decreasing spasticity, increasing range of motion and improving gait. Very relaxing and makes you feel GREAT!!  This aquatics class is suitable for all levels of fitness, including wheelchair.    If not independent on land, you MUST provide a support person to assist you in the pool.
