2005: 79th Texas Legislative Session
During the 2005 Texas Legislative Session, volunteer advocates from the Texas Chapters of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society communicated with legislators and other decision makers in person, on the phone and by e-mail. They kept legislators informed about how health legislation will impact people with MS, and encouraged them to vote in favor of bills that will benefit people with chronic illness.
The voice of people affected by MS at the Texas Capitol not only helped change policy this session, but paved the way for future policies that will increase and preserve resources, services and rights for people affected by MS.
