Ann SasichAnn Sasich joined the Board in 2005 serving as Secretary and Chair-Elect before assuming the role of Board Chair this past November. She got involved because of a personal connection to MS - her son and two cousins are living with the disease - and is deeply committed to the Society’s mission to improve treatments and find a cure. Ann believes strongly in the power of people working together toward a common goal and her motto is “If you can think it you can do it.”

Ann worked for Salt Lake City School District (SLCSD) until her retirement in June, 2007. As the Director of SLCSD Community Education, she supervised 400 employees and oversaw out-of-school time educational programs serving 20,000 children and adults per year. She currently provides educational consulting services to schools and community-based organizations and is also a small business owner. Leadership positions have included serving as president of the Utah Association of Adult, Community and Continuing Education and chairing the SLCSD Classified Employment Professional Development Committee. Other volunteer board service has included Salt Lake Acting Company, Our House Child Care Advisory Board, the U of U Health Advocates Council and the Utah Afterschool Network.

Ann has been married to her husband Joe for 40 years. They have three sons, David (Jenny), Michael (Victoria) and Eli and two grandchildren, Mila and Zachary. For fun and relaxation, she likes reading, traveling, walking/hiking, yoga, music, good conversation, and hanging out in Coronado, California. Going to Disneyland with kids and grandkids is a special family tradition.

Ann would like to help the Society promote community partnerships and expand opportunities for meaningful volunteer engagement. “We have a great strategic plan and its success depends on involving committed people and organizations who want to contribute their time, talent and resources to ending MS.”
