Congratulations on a successful Stand to Cure MS 2011! More than 150 Society volunteers and 50 grocery store employees at 33 Harmons, Maceys, Dan's, Lin's, and Dick's stores throughout Utah passed out lemonade, spread awareness about MS, and raised $5,000 for the Society! Thank you to the stores, volunteers, and customers for making this event a big success. Check out pictures on our Facebook page here.

Look for the Stand to Cure MS at a grocery store near you! Volunteers are needed to talk to customers about MS and give out lemonade. It is a fun event and a great way to reach out to communities statewide. Contact GetInvolved@nmss.org for more info and to volunteer.

The Stand to Cure MS is an awareness event for the National MS Society. It began in 2008 when Thomas, a boy whose mom had just been diagnosed with MS, wanted to help her. He decided to sell lemonade that summer and raised $1,000, which he donated to the Society. Bob Harmon of Harmons joined the event, enlisted Associated Foods, and by the summer of 2009 the Society hosted our first Stand to Cure MS in 33 grocery stores from Logan to St. George. The event is a way to raise awareness about MS, provide information about the Society, and identify more people with MS who are now aware of the services available to them.
