The National MS Society created their scholarship program in 2003 to help qualified students who have been diagnosed with MS or who have a parent with MS achieve their dreams of going to college because having MS should never stand in the way of an education.
In its first year, the program awarded 36 scholarships for a total of $68,000. In 2009, a total of $1,021,600 was awarded to 510 scholars.
