Social Connections and Support Groups help support people with MS and their families in adapting and coping with the changes that living with multiple sclerosis may bring. The Chapter offers a variety of emotional support programs for people with MS and their families and care-partners.
>Self-Help Groups
Self-help groups bring people together who share a common life experience for support, education and mutual aid. Members share a belief that positive personal change can happen through individual effort with the support of others.
>Friendly Visitor Program
Opportunities exist for people with limited social interactions (such as those in long term care facilities or nursing homes) to receive visits from volunteers.
>Peer Support
Receive telephone based support from a trained volunteer with MS.
>MS Partner Counseling Program
Free telephone counseling available to 18+ family members of people with MS.
