Social connections and support groups help support people with MS and their families in adapting and coping with the changes that living with multiple sclerosis may bring. The chapter offers a variety of emotional support programs for people with MS and their families and care-partners.
Self-Help Groups
Self-help groups bring people together who share a common life experience for support, education and mutual aid. Members share a belief that positive personal change can happen through individual effort with the support of others.
Friendly Visitor Program
Opportunities exist for people with limited social interactions (such as those in long term care facilities or nursing homes) to receive visits from volunteers.
MS Partner Counseling Program
Free telephone counseling available to 18+ family members of people with MS.
For more information on any of these programs, contact the chapter office at 1-800-344-4867.
