Bike Medics are registered riders who provide medical assistance along the route on both days.
The level of care will usually be basic First Aid, but can include BTLS and ALS. Bike Medic Volunteers must have a minimum of ECA or greater. BTLS, ACLS and any other specialty certifications are welcomed. Bike Medics are not required to be affiliated with a fire department or EMS service, but some pre-hospital experience is preferred.
Bike Medics will carry BLS as well as BSI items. Communication is by cell phone to the ride’s Command Center. A special rider jersey will be issued.
Bike Medics are required to pass a background check.
