Breakpoint Volunteers

There are typically four to eight breakpoints on the route each day. Breakpoints provide riders with food, drinks, portable toilets, medical support and a place to rest before continuing to Comal County Fairgrounds on Day 1 and the Alamodome on Day 2.

Breakpoint volunteers are needed to help set up, take down and operate these rest areas. Activities may include putting up and taking down tents, tables and chairs; cutting fruit; mixing sport drinks; providing information and directions to cyclists; managing lines and crowd control; providing positive moral support and hospitality; and loading and unloading supply trucks.
