The Hampton Roads Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society was established in 1953, and is located in Virginia Beach, and serves the entire area from Williamsburg south to North Carolina, including Pasquotank, Camden and Currituck counties, as well as the Northern Neck and Eastern Shore of Virginia. See area map.
The Chapter is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, chaired by Jim Dyche, of Beach Ford/Barton Ford.
The chapter employs four full-time staff members, but relies heavily on the hundreds of volunteers who assist in the daily fight to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. Volunteers work to help the Hampton Roads Chapter accomplish our goals each year. From working a water-stop at an event to sending out information packets to someone who is newly diagnosed, the volunteers are making a difference. Volunteers are key to the chapter's success and we truly value their support.
Through the diligent work of concerned individuals coming together in the movement to free the world of MS, the Hampton Roads Chapter provides programs, services and activities in areas such as knowledge, health and independence to empower those affected by multiple sclerosis. Chapter programs are made possible by our fundraising success.
The major fundraising campaigns are: walk MS, bike MS, and stair climb MS.
