Weekend Retreat:
Wellness is a dynamic state of physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being that can be achieved even in the presence of a chronic illness or disability.
For a person living with MS, the road to wellness involves more than treatment of the disease. Equally important are health promotion and prevention strategies, satisfying personal relationships, a strong support network, fulfilling work and leisure activities, a meaningful place in the community, and adequate attention to one's inner self.
Thanks to a generous annual grant from the ziMS Foundation, the Hampton Roads Chapter is able to provide an Oceanside Weekend Retreat for those with MS to focus on their wellness. This program includes time to learn, relax, exercise, and have fun.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
For the past two years, the Flip-Flop Workshops by the Seashore, sponsored by the ziMS Foundation, have been a HUGE success! Unfortunately, due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts we will be unable to hold the Workshops in 2011. We know that the sense of community and friendship that was fostered is one of the most noteworthy things of this program; therefore, we plan to hold another Flip-Flop Workshops by the Seashore Weekend Retreat in 2012 so that old friends can catch up and new friends can meet.
