Program Committees

Volunteers help the chapter design and implement its programs and services for people affected by MS.

  • The Programs Advisory Committee (PAC) works with chapter staff to develop, execute, and evaluate programs and services. Members of the PAC, including health care and community professionals as well as those living with MS, make recommendations based on their knowledge of MS, the clients served by the chapter, and the chapter’s resources.
  • The Clinical Advisory Committee (CAC) is a group of neurologists, nurses, and other health care professionals who oversee the chapter’s medically related programs and advise on topics relating to the clinical care of people with MS. CAC members also act as chapter spokespersons on medical topics.

For more information about these leadership committees, please contact the Robyn Hirsch, Programs & Services Director, at 757-490-9627 or robyn.hirsch@nmss.org.

Event Committees

Chapter committees help organize and develop the chapter’s fundraising events, like Walk MS, Bike MS, and Challenge Walk MS. Committee members may coordinate event logistics, secure sponsorship, or mentor participants.

For more information, please contact Karla McCarraher, Director of Special Events, (karla.mccarraher@nmss.org) at 757-490-9627 or by the emails listed.
