After earning his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Avellino went on to earn an MBA from George Washington University.

He is currently the Director of the UW Medicine Neuroscience Insitute as well as a Professor of Neurological Surgery and Joint Professor of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Avellino lives in Seattle with his wife and two children.
