Carrie was born and raised in Massachusetts and relocated with her family to Seattle in the late 1980s. During her high school and college years she became interested in philanthropic pursuits guided by her grandparents, Dr. E.C. “Buster” & Nancy Alvord. She began volunteering for the organization Amigos de las Americas, an international, non-profit organization.
Carrie attended Scripps College & Pace University’s Leinhard School of Nursing. She owns CDR Farms, dedicated to breeding, raising and training future world champion performance horses managed by Rhodes River Ranch. She has two young daughters.
Carrie is also a founding member of the Seattle UNICEF Advisory Circle. She serves on UNICEF’s National Development Committee and on the Board of Trustees for Billings Middle School.
