Registration is now open for the February 19 Day of Activism in Washington. During the annual event in Olympia, MS Activists from around the state will meet with their legislators to raise awareness about MS and advocate for better health insurance for people living with MS.
“We need the entire MS community to come together to make sure legislators pay attention.” says MS Activist Holly Hawker. “It’s empowering and at the end of the day, not only will you have made a difference, but you’ll be much more informed.”
Legislators are faced with a number of decisions to make this year, especially related to the future of health care programs for people with MS and other chronic diseases. To get updates on these and other pressing issues, sign for Action Alerts.
The Day of Activism is open to all people living with MS, and their friends, family, caregivers, and anyone else interested in issues important to the MS community. Participants are encouraged to attend two teleconferences prior to the event to learn how to make appointments with their legislators and get up to speed on the most important issues facing the Legislature this year.
