Trevis Gleason has been a Coast Guard navigator, food journalist and published author, a consultant, an award-winning chef and culinary instructor. Retired from a distinguished career and living in Seattle, Washington, Trevis has taken on the even larger challenge of living with Secondary-Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. He is an active volunteer for the National MS Society and lives with his wife, Caryn, and their "Pack" of three dogs, Sadie, Stella and Max, in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. Trevis also posts a “Life with MS” blog on everydayhealth.com.

Ray Heacox was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2003. At the time of those first symptoms, Ray was working as an executive for NBC in New York. Nearly a decade on, Ray has held several interesting positions and has made his way back home to the Pacific Northwest. Ray is also the chairman of the board of trustees of the newly re-monikered Greater Northwest Chapter of the National MS Society; offering programs, services and assistance to over 12 ,000 people living with a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis and over 72,000 of their families, doctors and employers.

Dr. Ehde is a clinical psychologist and Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Washington. She has conducted studies on the treatment of pain and depression in persons living with MS. These studies have revealed that many people with MS are eager to learn additional ways of managing their pain, mood, and/or fatigue but are often unable to access such care.

Craig Smith went to college at WSU and graduated from physical therapy school in Texas. Craig has been working with Group Health as head of the PT department for 20 years. He routinely works with MS patients and has had an enjoyable and understandably challenging time with all of his MS patients. Craig is also contracted with a State facility for the disabled and mentally handicapped and works in two group homes. He is on the advisory board for the National MS Society, Inland Northwest Chapter in Spokane, Washington.

Dr. Morrison is a multiple sclerosis physician. She completed medical school at Brown University in Providence, RI, family medicine residency at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, CA, and a Master’s degree in medical education at the University of Southern California (USC). After completing fellowship training in multiple sclerosis at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2005, she conducted clinical research and practiced at the Los Angeles County-USC Multiple Sclerosis Center, where she was Voluntary Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology. Dr. Morrison has received several awards including the UCI Humanism in Medicine Award in 2001 and Orange County Physicians of Excellence in 2005 and 2006. Dr. Morrison provides specialty care for patients with multiple sclerosis. Her special interests include exercise, wellness and symptom management. |

Melissa Pei is a licensed physical therapist and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Washington in 2006. She has been with Evergreen Rehabilitation Services for the last three and a half years and works primarily with MS patients and Parkinson’s Disease patients. She is an MS Certified Specialist through the Consortium of MS Centers and has a very strong interest in working with patients in helping them reach their goals. Her focus is on educating patients on the importance of activity and exercise which can help maximize independence and safety as well as maximize quality of life. |

Pavle Repovic, MD, PhD is a MS specialist at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle. He received his neurology training at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital, followed by a fellowship in MS and neuroimmunology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He has been involved in a number of clinical trials of novel treatments for MS. Dr. Repovic is a recipient of the Sylvia Lawry Physician Fellowship grant from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Shana Johnson, MD is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who specializes in the management and rehabilitation of multiple sclerosis. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She completed a multiple sclerosis fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center under George H Kraft, MD. She relocated to the Olympia area following the completion of her fellowship and joined the Providence Physical Medicine group in the fall of 2009.

Ted Thompson recently joined the Society's Public Policy Office as the new Vice President of Federal Government Relations. Prior to this position he was Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Mission Advancement for the Minnesota Chapter where he oversaw public policy, chapter programs and client services. Ted has extensive federal public policy background including 9 years work for two Members of Congress including 5 years as chief of staff. He learned health policy both as a Congressional staffer and during a stint as Legislative Counsel and Director of Federal Legislation for the Minnesota Medical Association. As a one-time candidate for office he also brings the perspective of a candidate focused on earning votes. He has joined the federal team at a particularly busy time with the ongoing debt ceiling issues, federal budget deficits, and a difficult political environment.

Dr. Lily Jung Henson, MD, MMM, FAAN is the Medical Director of the Neurology Clinic at Swedish Neuroscience Institute (SNI) in Issaquah and a member of the MS Center at SNI. Lily is the chief of neurology at Swedish Hospital and sits on the Government Relations Committee of the American Academy of Neurology and the Board of the BrainPAC. She is on the Federal Activism Council of the National MS Society and currently serves on the National Board of Directors for the National MS Society.
