Organization description
We are Alaskans with MS whose goal is to establish such a community environment, to build a place that meets the needs of the Alaskan MS community by providing educational resources, support and regular programs aimed at improving one's quality of life. By providing services above and beyond the direct medical needs of an individual, we aim to compliment the efforts of the Alaska Medical Community and work in conjunction with the Greater Northwest Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to provide the best resources available for each individual.

Organization description
The MS Centers of Excellence (MSCoE) are a national program (MSCoE West: Seattle, Portland; MSCoE - East: Baltimore) that provides leadership and direction in creating regional networks of MS clinics within the VHA including: 1. Clinical Care; 2. Education and Training; 3. Research and Development; 4. Informatics and Telemedicine. We are dedicated to further the understanding of the disease, its impact on Veterans, and effective treatments to help manage MS symptoms. The VA Puget Sound Health Care System MS Regional Program is a hub site clinic of the MS Centers of Excellence. It serves Veterans with MS in Western Washington and also works with clinic sites in Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Alaska.

The MS Center at Evergreen improves the quality of life for multiple sclerosis patients and their families through a comprehensive program of diagnosis, treatment and support. The MS Center is part of the Evergreen Neuroscience Institute, a state-of-the-art facility with patient-friendly access, an on-site clinical research lab, and comprehensive rehabilitation services. By bringing our key services together under one roof, we are able to coordinate complex care issues with our network of specialty providers.

The center offers a full range of services to MS patients including diagnosis and treatment. Our staff is knowledgeable about disease treatments, rehabilitation treatments and experimental treatments. Related services are available including neuro-imaging facilities, neurosurgery, urology, neuro-opthalmology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, psychiatry, social services, vocational services and orthotics. The center is a member of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers and affiliated with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. As part of the UW Medicine health system, the center draws from a depth of knowledge, expertise and experience across the university.
