Research fuels a future of hope

The National MS Society, Greater Northwest Chapter offers programs, services and fundraising events to make life better today for people living with MS. But we’re also here for tomorrow — funding cutting-edge research into treatments and a cure to help ensure a more hopeful future.

Through money raised at events like Walk MS and Bike MS, and through gifts from generous individuals, families and corporations, the Society fuels MS research worldwide. We uniquely approach MS research with a comprehensive strategy to bring solutions to everyone affected by MS. Our goals are to STOP disease progression, RESTORE function that has already been lost, and END MS forever by protecting future generations. The Society’s commitment to research is driven by our dedication to pursue all promising paths in order to create a world free of MS.

In a Chapter community where MS is more prevalent than almost anywhere else on earth, our commitment to research will one day achieve the vision of a world free of MS. Here are just a few ways that you can help this MS research revolution:

Donate. Your contributions to the Greater Northwest Chapter advances MS research. To designate your gift specifically, please contact the Chapter.

Learn more. The National MS Society has up-to-date reports on the latest research discoveries here and across the world.

Become an MS Champion. The National MS Society has launched the MS NOW campaign with an ambitious goal to raise $250 million by the end of 2015. MS NOW – No Opportunity Wasted – aims to jumpstart research that will stop MS in its tracks, restore what’s been lost and end MS forever.

Stay up to date. Read the most current news about MS research.

Advocate for additional research funding. The Society is at the front line asking our elected officials to make MS research a priority. We advocate for increased funding for the National Institutes of Health and for new and unique avenues for research dollars. Become an MS Activist today and let your voice be heard.

Participate in a clinical trial. Many people living with MS who are drawn to exciting leads in research decide to participate in scientific studies designed to test the safety and effectiveness of new treatments. You may qualify to participate in one of these clinical trials right here in the Northwest, receiving the benefit of cutting edge care and the satisfaction of knowing that your participation can lead to better therapies.
