SENIOR DIRECTOR MISSION DELIVERY
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Wisconsin Chapter has an exciting, full-time career opportunity for a Senior Director of Mission Delivery. The Senior Director will help develop strategy and lead Mission Delivery Department activities including client programs and services including overseeing administration of self-help groups, information and referral and tier II & III support programs, programs and services data integrity and reporting, financial assistance programs and other NMSS-directed initiatives. The Senior Director will help maintain and develop relationships on a number of critical fronts including serving as a key Chapter liaison with a variety of volunteer committees such as the Clinical Advisory Committee, Government Relations Committee, Act 71 and Scholarship Committee. This individual will also help maintain productive relationships with Comprehensive MS Care Centers and Partners in Care decision makers (doctors, researchers, etc.) in order to maximize client support. The Senior Director will take initiative to identify, develop and leverage regional and national NMSS relationships to share best practices and maximize achievement of overall goals – including visibility at partner organizations (clinic visits, participation in partner programming, etc.). Additionally the Senior Director will oversee and provide leadership for development and execution of the Chapter’s advocacy initiatives including maintaining relationships with public policy officials, volunteers, medical professionals, disability organizations, etc. deemed key to achieving state, region and national goals. The Senior Director will also assume primary responsibility for the creation, implementation and utilization of required NMSS and Chapter reporting systems and documentation procedures to support various Strategic Response Goals. Additionally, the Senior Director will personally participate in a variety of Chapter events and also secure opportunities to incorporate Mission Delivery messaging in those activities.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, social services, marketing, communications or a related field with at least seven years experience including managerial. Strong communication and presentation skills are required, along with the ability to interact and work collaboratively with a variety of audiences from volunteers to scientists. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn and utilize Society database tools is critical. The Senior Director must also be able to operate a motor vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and provide reliable transportation to Chapter events in a statewide territory. The ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, participate in overnight events including weekends and travel by all forms of public transportation is also required.
VOLUNTEER AND OUTREACH COORDINATOR
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Wisconsin Chapter has a full time career opportunity for a Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator. This individual will lead initiatives and partner with key staff members to grow volunteer participation at the Chapter. Responsibilities will include ensuring that volunteers understand the Society’s mission and are properly trained, supervised, evaluated and recognized. This individual will maintain the Chapter’s volunteer database, coordinate consistent volunteer communications, update assignment calendars and play a key role in cultivating volunteer relationships. The Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator will also help craft and execute strategies to place volunteers in key leadership roles – with a special focus on the Chapter’s signature events: Walk MS and Bike MS. Additionally, this individual will lead the Chapter’s Do It Yourself independent fundraising program. The Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator is expected to keep abreast of developments in MS research and treatments by networking with peers, reviewing publications and participating in Society teleconferences and/or online presentations.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with coursework to include business, marketing, communication or public relations. Strong organizational and communication skills are required, along with the ability to interact and work collaboratively with a variety of audiences to include volunteers, clients and staff. Prior experience in customer service or sales is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Excel is required. DEVELOPMENT INTERN
The Wisconsin Chapter has an exciting career opportunity for a Development intern. This unpaid internship is designed to assist the National MS Society-Wisconsin Chapter in projects related to donor identification, cultivation and stewardship. The intern will play an active role in the preparation of special, high-level donor events, mailings and other activities that build relationships with the Chapter’s donors. The intern will also assist in researching, identifying donor opportunities and drafting reports, as necessary. This internship will provide direct mentoring, practical development application experience and hands-on special event planning.
Qualifications include working on attaining a Bachelor’s degree. Excellent writing, oral communication and phone skills. Interest in learning about donor development. Comfortable speaking to others and working with a variety of people. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong organizational, multi-tasking and computer skills.
