Make a Mark for MS: Use Wisconsin’s Income Tax Donation Program to Help Those Affected by MS

When you participate in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Wisconsin Chapter’s MS Tax Check-Off program, you provide help, hope and inspiration to more than 10,000 residents diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The funds generated help improve the quality of life and ensure continued independence for those affected by MS by:
- Providing counseling services and aquatic therapy
- Purchasing wheelchairs and mobility modifications
- Installing home and automobile modifications for handicap accessibility
- Purchasing cooling garments to help with heat sensitivity
- Covering the cost of respite care
- And more

- When completing your Wisconsin income tax form, check the box under “Donations” and enter the amount you would like to donate to help those affected by multiple sclerosis.
- Tell your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers about the MS Tax Check-Off program and ask them to “Make a Mark” for the cause. Here is some wording you can use:
Please remember to “make a mark” when you complete your Wisconsin income taxes. Through the MS Tax Check-Off program, every dollar of your contribution will help Wisconsin residents with MS. Wisconsin has one of the highest incidence rates of MS in the U.S. with more than 10,000 people (1-in-500) diagnosed. In addition to being a complicated and unpredictable disease, MS is also expensive – the annual cost of living with MS is estimated at $69,000 per year. Designating a part of your tax refund to MS programs will go a long way in helping people in our state who are affected by the disease. Thank you for making a mark for MS!

- Place a notice about the MS Tax Check-Off program in the bulletin, newsletter or web site of your place of worship.
