Acorda Therapeutics honored for their commitment to ending MS
Chicago, Nov. 7, 2008 — Dozens of top executives from leading companies gathered today at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s annual conference in Chicago.
The business leaders were recognized for their outstanding commitment to helping people with MS move their lives forward and to raising awareness for the disease and the National MS Society. More than 800 leaders in the movement, including Society volunteers, employees and other corporate leaders, acknowledged these corporate “stars” and partners at the organization’s annual meeting. Acorda Therapeutics has demonstrated their leadership and commitment to people with MS and the Society through the support of a variety of impactful projects:
- Walk MS: sponsorship of local Walk MS events across the country and support for a Cooperative Event Marketing Program credited with increasing Walk MS registration nationwide.
- Survey on the effects of mobility issues on quality of life: Acorda Therapeutics partnered with the Society to support a landmark survey conducted by Harris Interactive that explored the views of people with MS and caregivers.
- “I Walk Because”: A Web site, booth, and video developed by Acorda Therapeutics promotes awareness of MS and mobility issues.
