Commitment to the Movement
General Motors has been a longtime leader in the movement toward a world free of MS.
Six years ago GM became a charter member of the Corporate Star program as a result of their strong commitment to Bike MS. The relationship now includes team participation in all special events, sponsorship, and volunteer opportunities.
GM currently participates in Bike MS and Walk MS in several cities around the country and they currently participate in 10 MS chapters. In GM’s home state, Michigan, GM has raised more than $1.7 million through its Bike MS team (since 1993); Walk MS team (since 2000); MS Longest Day of Golf foursomes (since 2003); and through corporate sponsorship of Bike, Walk, Golf and the chapter’s da Vinci Awards event. GM also helped to secure support for the da Vinci Awards from OnStar and GM-UAW. GM associates have also participated in chapter community events, and have volunteered for events and committees.
GM promotes increased accessibility for people with disabilities throughout the nation.
