Dear Congressman xxx:
As a constituent and an MS activist, I urge you to join the Congressional Multiple Sclerosis Caucus. Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS. It is an unpredictable, often disabling autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. More than 400,000 people in the United States, and 2.5 million people worldwide, live with MS. The exact cause is still unknown, and there is no cure.
Congressman Carnahan (MO) and Congressman Burgess (TX) are the co-chairs of the new MS Caucus. This active and engaged bi-partisan Caucus will serve as a forum for Members and staff to discuss critical health care, disability, research, and other issues affecting people living with MS. Through your participation in the MS Caucus, you can help address the challenges each person faces whose life is affected by MS and help them stay connected to their communities. To that end, I urge you to join the Congressional MS Caucus.
Thank you.
