2011 Funding the Mission Hall of Fame

Dr. Barbara Green - Greater New England Chapter
Dr. Barbara Green is a dynamic professional whose love for her husband moves hundreds of people and businesses to end MS. As a Walk MS Team Captain, and member of the Women on the Move and Clinical Advisory Committees, Barbara continually raises the bar for herself and others; recruiting walkers, raising money, increasing awareness, and delivering the mission. Her quiet, professional manner belies her passion for the mission, and her ability to motivate others to take action.

Captain M. Thomas Kroon - Greater Northwest Chapter
Thom and Gwen Kroon have made a tremendous mark on MS. Thom has been instrumental in developing the chapter’s major giving program, building the success of the Dinner of Champions and engaging others in the MS movement. His leadership has been felt as a past Trustee of the Greater Northwest Chapter and a current member of the Fast Forward, LLC Cabinet. In recognition of these contributions, Thom & Gwen were the 2009 Hope Award Honorees.

Cathy Onufrychuk - National Capital Chapter
Cathy Onufrychuk is a networking dynamo, a fundraising powerhouse, a positive spokesperson, and a motivated leader in the MS movement. Over the past 15 years, Cathy has developed countless relationships with others affected by MS and with influential supporters who are committed to ending the disease. As a leader in both Walk MS and the MS Women on the Move Luncheon, Cathy raises funds and awareness throughout the D.C. area.

Chuck Scherwinski - Wisconsin Chapter
Chuck Scherwinski is a long-time volunteer fundraiser and ambassador for the Wisconsin Chapter. Diagnosed with MS 13 years ago, Chuck has been Wisconsin’s top fundraiser for Bike MS for several years, and the fifth highest fundraiser in the country in 2009. He secured Toyota as title sponsor for Bike MS for five straight years, was the face of the ride in television spots and media interviews, and has set a true example for others.

Mike Schrock - Upper Midwest Chapter
Michael Schrock joined the National MS Society, Upper Midwest Chapter’s Board of Trustees in November 2004. As the current Board Chair, his dynamic leadership inspires his counterparts to make personal gifts and engage corporate contacts. He is generous with both his time and resources. He’s a Golden Circle donor and Mission Star fundraiser (fundraisers who solicit more than $9,000 annually) — he also goes to incredible lengths to be present at Minnesota Chapter meetings and events. Mike Schrock’s commitment to the MS movement is truly extraordinary!

Fern Seizer - Southern California & Nevada Chapter
Over the last 18 years, Fern Seizer has worked tirelessly, in her daughter’s honor, to raise more than $131,000, and generously donated an additional $86,000. As an active Chapter trustee, fundraiser and ambassador, Fern shares her time, knowledge of nonprofit organizations, and fundraising expertise. She has been a leader in tapping into her contacts to open doors to many significant foundation gifts for the chapter. She and her husband Bob are also proud Lawry Circle members.

René Webb - Southern California & Nevada Chapter
René Webb has been an active fundraiser and MS ambassador for over a decade. In that time, she has raised nearly $290,000 and generously donated nearly $15,000. A well-known and much respected community leader in the Inland Empire, she uses her strong corporate contacts to open doors for the chapter. Living with MS since 1983, she shares her experience to raise MS awareness and inspire others to get involved with the Society.
