"Louisiana Job Fairs 2008" will be held in October to help people with disabilities find employment. These 5th annual statewide job fairs are being cooridnated by Louisiana Business Leadership Network and sponsored by the Medicaid Purchase Plan for workers with disabilities through its federal Medicaid Infrastructure Grant.
There is a large pool of qualified people in Louisiana who are motiviated to work but are often overlooked in the hiring process. Louisiana is home to near 400,000 people with disabilities who are working age, and want to work. These job fairs are a collaborative effort of many agencies representing people with disabilities and are being offered statewide, designed to give individuals full access to employers willing to hire people with disabilities in convenient locations across the state. Click Here to see linstings of job fair locations near you. COME DRESSED FOR SUCCESS AND BRING RESUME'. Participating businesses will be on site and ready to hire!

The National MS Society is committed to building a movement by and for people with MS that will move us closer to a world free of this disease.

Our Mission
The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. In support of our national mission, the Louisiana Chapter will serve as a statewide vehicle to facilitate financial support for research and programs, directed to enhance the highest quality of life through the most effective means, for all individuals with MS, their families and those affected by the disease living throughout the Chapter territory.
Louisiana's Vision
- To generate more income and increase programming and research support
- To increase public awareness of MS and the National MS Society
- To enhance the Board development plan including statewide geographical representation and Regional Council expansion
- To provide for the necessary staff and other resources needed to acheive our mission
About the Louisiana Chapter
The Louisiana Chapter, founded in 1972, is a not-for-profit agency serving nearly 4,000 people with MS and their families living in the 64 Parish territory of Louisiana. Headquartered in Metairie, the Chapter is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. Each year the Chapter raises funds to support our mission. Our major fund raising campaigns are the MS Walk, MS Bike Ride, and The Renaissance Festival. Chapter income is used to fund national programs and international research. In addition, we are here to serve you with local programs such as educational seminars, quarterly newsletter, teleconferences, information & referral, lending library, literature, equipment loan closet, financial assistance, newly diagnosed programs, and support groups. Over 500 volunteers help support these efforts by giving their time and talent to the Louisiana Chapter as Board Members, Regional Council Representatives, Self-Help Group Leaders, Event Volunteers, Office Assistants and more.
